Healthy Pregnancy

We can only provide care to healthy, low-risk women.

  • We monitor pregnancy and birth so that mom and baby can have the best outcomes possible.
  • We provide classes, handouts and one-on-one sessions to educate families about the prevention strategies they can use to protect the health of mom’s pregnancy.
  • If a pregnancy shows signs of increasing risks, care will need to be transferred.

We cannot provide care to women with the following conditions at the center. In some cases we can care for them in their home:

  • Communicable or contagious disease (may return after treatment)
  • Mental health disorder
  • Eating disorders
  • Multiple pregnancy (twins +)
  • Labor before 36 wks
  • Labor after 42 wks
  • History of 2 or more preterm (before 36 wks) deliveries
  • Breech presentation for a first time mom or a VBAC mom
  • Anemia after 36 weeks of pregnancy
  • BMI greater than 35 unless mom can easily walk 3 miles
  • History of preeclampsia
  • Any conditions which threatens the health and safety of mom and baby or increases the risks during birth

Should any of our clients develop any condition during pregnancy which requires hospitalization, they will be offered doula/support care should they choose to admit to Banner University Hospital.
